SIGGRAPH 2012 hosts an ACM Student Research Competition, which takes place in two stages. In the first stage, 15 student posters are selected for judging. At the conference, a panel of distinguished judges reviews these 15 posters and selects five finalists, who have five minutes each to present their work to the judges. After the presentations, the judges select the three best SIGGRAPH 2012 posters. The winning authors present their work on Thursday:
