The 7th International ACM SIGGRAPH Conference on Motion in Games (MIG 2014) will take place in Los Angeles, California, from November 6 to 8. 2014 marks the first year Motion in Games will be held in the United States.
Games have become a very important medium for education, therapy and entertainment. Motion plays a crucial role in computer games. Characters move around, objects are manipulated or move due to physical constraints, entities are animated, and the camera moves through the scene. Even the motion of the player nowadays is used as input to games. Motion is currently studied in many different areas of research, including graphics and animation, game technology, robotics, simulation, computer vision, and also physics, psychology, and urban studies.
Among the most prestigious of honors in computer graphics, ACM SIGGRAPH awards are presented to people who are leaders in the field, or destined to become so. The award talks session at the annual SIGGRAPH conference gives winners the opportunity to expound on their background and research.
For those who missed them, the talks are now available to watch in full (below), courtesy of the ACM SIGGRAPH SCOOP team.
SIGGRAPH 2014 Award Recipients:
PerMIn'15 will be a cross-disciplinary platform for presentation and exchange of new ideas by researchers, developers and industry professionals working on different aspects of Human Perception and Cognition Processes and Development of Intelligent Technologies. The conference invites the researchers to participate and contribute to the international forum. Full manuscripts in prescribed format describing original research results, not published or under consideration for publication elsewhere, are only invited for review.
The ACM Symposium on Spatial User Interaction (SUI) will be the second international symposium focused on the user interface challenges that appear when users interact in the space where the flat, two-dimensional, digital world meets the volumetric, physical, three-dimensional (3D) space we live in. This considers both spatial input and output, with an emphasis on the issues around interaction between humans and systems. It provides a unique opportunity for industrial and academic researchers to exchange about the state-of-the-art spatial and 3D interaction research!
The goal of the workshop is to attract high-quality research papers in the domains of dynamic simulation and physical interaction in virtual reality environments. We also welcome papers showing on-going research with promising results and new technology with applications of related focus.
The 22nd Pacific Conference on Computer Graphics and Applications (Pacific Graphics 2014) will be held in Seoul on Oct 8-10, 2014. Pacific Graphics (PG) is an annual international conference on computer graphics and applications. As a highly successful series, Pacific Graphics provides a premier forum for researchers, developers, practitioners in the Pacific Rim and around the world to present and discuss new problems, solutions, and technologies in computer graphics and related areas.
Santiago: Centro Cultural GAM, Teatro Lastarria 90 Duoc UC
Valparaíso: Palacio Cousiño Duoc UC
The 23rd International Conference on Computer Graphics, Visualization and Computer Vision will be held in Plzen, Czech Republic.

The purpose of VISIGRAPP is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in both theoretical advances and applications of computer vision, computer graphics and information visualization. VISIGRAPP is composed of three co-located conferences, each specialized in at least one of the aforementioned main knowledge areas.
The purpose of the Organizing Committee of the Fourth Ibero-American Conference on Complexity, Informatics and Cybernetics (CICIC 2015) is to bring together academics and practitioners, researchers and experts from all three areas to submit the results of their research and experiences in a disciplinary and multidisciplinary forum for the purpose of an exchange of ideas and opinions.
The comprehensive and profound impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on Society is a very known fact. In turn, private, public and academic organizations are generating new requirements and demands that must be addressed by ICT. Demand-Pull and Technological-Push are interacting with each other through cybernetic loops. Society and ICT are co-regulating each other via negative Feedback Loops and synergistically co-evolving via positive feedback loops.
Education (cognitive development) and training (performance in a specific skill) are different but highly related notions. They have common means to achieve their objectives as it is the case of, for example, teaching, learning and e-learning. Informatics is supporting both of them with an increasing frequency and effectiveness in more and more activities and domains.
IMCIC 2015 is an international forum for scientists and engineers, researchers and consultants, theoreticians and practitioners in the fields of Complexity, Informatics, and Cybernetics. IMCIC 2015 Organizing Committee will consider disciplinary research articles for their possible acceptance as well as multi-, inter-, and trans-disciplinary research, studies, reflections, programs, and projects.
The purpose of the International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development, MODELSWARD 2015, is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to present their research results and development activities in using models and model driven engineering techniques for software development.
ICCVIA’ 2015 will be an international forum for discussions on recent advances in the fields of computer vision and image analysis, and on applications of these technologies in various fields.
To advance research in the virtual reality continuum fields, VRCAI 2014 seeks to provide a forum for scientists, researchers, developers, users and industry leaders in the international VRC community to come together to share experiences, exchange ideas and spur one another in the knowledge of this fast-growing field. As a joint conference of SIGGRAPH ASIA 2014, VRCAI 2014 will take place just before SIGGRAPH Asia 2014.
